Singer, actress and activist Cyndi Lauper has always had a style all her own. The fashion wild child dominated MTV in the '80s and influenced girls everywhere to justhave fun with neon makeup, lots of bangles and colorful hair. Like some of our other beloved fashion icons she has a more-is-more approach to dressing and once said: “On my darkest days, I wear my brightest colors.” This born and bred New York girl teaches us there's no such thing as a fashion mistake and that bold opinions are just as important as bold style.
But if you're not daring enough to dress like the "True Colors" singer everyday, just go all out on Halloween and channel the pop singer in her Statue of Liberty look from 1988. Cyndi paired a Grecian dress, crown and torch with her trademark candy-colored hair and sparkly eye shadow for a costume that truly says "I love New York." Will you dress like Cyndi Lauper for Halloween?
